Update on 3/13:
I’ve quickly evolved from a “do massage safely” to a “we need to stop seeing clients” mentality. I have shut down my own practice indefinitely.
This virus is contagious even as the carrier is asymptomatic.
So “Don’t come in if you are sick” isn’t particularly helpful in this situation. Once they actually feel sick, we’re 1-14 days too late. Further we cannot practice the suggested social distancing to slow the spread of the virus while in small massage rooms.
I recognize that not everyone is in an area that currently has COVID-19 cases. (But we all will be soon enough). I recognize that many of us do not have a savings account big enough to sustain a few weeks or more of closings.
At the same time, think about how terrible you will feel if a client gets sick from you. Heck, think about how terrible it would be for your business and reputation if several clients trace their sickness back to you.
These are strange and scary times. We do this work to keep people healthy and safe in their bodies. It’s on us to not do this work if it puts their health and safety in jeopardy.
Make good choices and lean towards prudence and protecting your clients (and yourself).
The question is being asked and it’s worthy of an answer. Ideally, an answer somewhere between “It’s a hoax!” and “We all gonna die!” So here we go.
Holster deal from Pure Pro Thanks Dianna! (No, we do not make any money off this link. We just want to make it easier for people to wash their darn holsters.)
